Pesticide Technician-Aloha OR

We are a local full service landscape contracting firm inviting qualified candidates to fill a vacancy in our Plant Healthcare [PHC] department.
 
Interested parties should possess a strong interest in the area of horticulture to include plant healthcare by performing targeted spray applications and fertilizing in both commercial & residential settings in a safe and efficient manner while thoroughly adhering to local, state & federal regulations in order to achieve assigned production & quality goals.
 
Required Licensing/Certifications –
Current OR Commercial Pesticide Applicators license to include categories 801, 802. Or, have the ability to obtain one within the 1st 90 days of hire.
 
Valid OR driver’s license & insurable record
 
Required Skills/Attributes –
Have the flexibility to accept occasional work schedule adjustments to accommodate seasonal & project demand without exception.
 
Identify PNW plants and their care to include fertility, watering and maintenance. Concurrently, be able to accurately identify local disease and insect/mite pests encountered within our client base.
 
Identify PNW weeds and as well as a basic knowledge of their control including the use of selective and nonselective herbicide.
 
Knowledge of turf fertilizer application including calibration of various granular fertilizer applicators.
 
Have previous spray application experience and a strong willingness to learn the proper technique.
 
Have competent, safe driving & road negotiation skills to include map reading and/or GPS devices.
 
 
Physical Requirements –
Walk, stand and negotiate uneven terrain, stairs, and fluctuating seasonal outdoor weather.
 
Safely lift moderate amounts of weight daily, including the handling of up to +200’ of hose in order to make spray applications.
 
Tolerate frequent bending in order to make low applications while also relying on both upper & lower body to provide thorough spray coverage.
 
Wear assigned personal protective equipment [PPE] and keep in good working order.

Successfully complete legible daily spray records and meet all production goals, efficiently.
