Landscaping Crew Lead -!!!! - Tacoma $21-$25

MSNW is a regional full service commercial facility management company. We provide janitorial, landscaping and maintenance services to commercial facilities, including banking institutions, medical facilities and government buildings in WA, OR and ID.

We are currently seeking a full time Landscape Crew Lead  for the Tacoma area. You must be eligible to drive our vehicles, you must be 21 years of age.   VALID WA DRIVERS LICENCE REQUIRED, good driving record.

Primary Job Functions: 
Supervises, trains, and works with the Landscape Crew and Landscape Technicians on assigned accounts, conforming to direct cost budgets, quality standards and clients’ satisfaction.  

Major Responsibilities:
 Trains crew members in tasks such as pruning trees and/or shrubs, using equipment, or caring for turf; trains crew members to do the job effectively and efficiently. 
 Directs activities of crew members and provides assistance in performing landscape duties as necessary to meet deadlines; follows up to insure that all work was completed and assigned properly. 
  Recommends changes in working conditions or equipment use to increase crew efficiency. 
 Prepares and secures all materials, tools, and equipment at the end of the day for the next day’s schedule.  
 Maintains and promotes safe working conditions in the field at all times.
 Follows company procedures on discipline if any safety rules are broken. 
 Ensures all crew members report to work on time and follow all company rules and procedures.
 Ensures all crew members maintain professional image through the use of approved MSNW uniform and monitoring and maintaining proper employee actions. 
 Assists Landscape Manager in performance reviews for all crew members.
 Able to respond properly to the client and follow up to make sure their needs have been completed to their satisfaction. 
 Inspect completed work to ensure conformance to specifications, standards, and contract requirements.
 Investigate work-related complaints to verify problems and to determine responses. 
 Properly communicates all client concerns/ complaints to the Landscape Manager.
 Monitors all irrigation controllers with a goal of zero percent loss of plant material due to the monitoring.
 Knows the location of all water meters and backflow shut off devices for each job site.
 Keeps the Landscape Manager aware of irrigation repairs needed. 
 Perform other duties as directed by the Landscape Manager. 

Qualifications & Training: 
 3+ Year(s) related work experience.
 Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
 Ability to use written and oral communication skills.
 Ability to read, and interpret data, information, and documents. 
 Ability to work independently and with good judgment.
 Ability to organize and implement work schedule. 
 Establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work. 
 Nice if candidate had a WA state pesticide license. 

Candidate will possess a valid, insurable drivers license and have experience driving truck with landscape trailer. 
 
  • $250 Referral Bonus to our current team, to be paid to our Current Employee upon the successful hire of a new candidate after the new hire completes 90 days employment
  • $250 Stay Bonus for a New Hire (independent of the Referral Bonus) that completes 90 days employment


Location: Tacoma, Washington
Schedule: Monday through Friday 
Start and End Time: 6 AM - 4 PM
Hours: 40 Hours per Week
Wage: $21 - $25 an hour.  DOE.
Benefits:  Medical and dental after 60 days, PTO and 401K after one year.
